The Faculty of Social Sciences at the Goethe University Frankfurt invites applications for the position of a
post-doctoral researcher
(full-time position, pay scale E13 TV-G-U)
The position is available from January 1st, 2021 for a contract duration of three years. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement (TV-G-U) applicable to Goethe University.
The researcher will be employed within the international joint research project "The Rural-Urban Divide in Europe (RUDE)", funded by NORFACE. This project is part of the NORFACE Network Programme on "Democratic Governance in a Turbulent Age" and examines the political dimension of rural-urban disparities. Members of the national project team are Prof. Sigrid Roßteutscher, PhD (project leader, Frankfurt), Jun.-Prof. Dr. Kathrin Ackermann (Heidelberg) and Prof. Dr. Richard Traunmüller (Mannheim). International project partners are the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ES), University of Bern (CH), University of Glasgow (UK) and Université Grenoble Alpes (FR).
Among the responsibilities of the advertised position are national and international project management, preparation, harmonisation, geo coding and integration of national and international survey and census data, coordination of an international survey and initiation of international publications.
Required qualifications are an above average PhD degree in social sciences, impeccable English, outstanding expertise in the quantitative methods of social sciences, in data preparation and data management as well as statistical data analysis (STATA or R). Experience in project management or similar executive positions is of advantage. Applicants should have a background in political attitude and behaviour research, demonstrated by international publications.
